Meeting Kiwi Olympians, school reunion notices, friends who leave you in the lurch, live radio mischief, international DJ's that disappoint and we're officially out of winter
Above are just a few things that cropped up and shaped my last 7 days. Even though I am a planner, with every week day fully organised, I found that it was the things I didn't plan for that really rocked my world.

A fine venue that's been off most peoples radar of late. Time to check it out. You get a wrist-band at the door that labels you as Taken, Maybe or Let's Go! It's a student style night, but us older ones can have an equally fine time. Wicked party tunes provided by multi-genre DJ Justin Sane and Jacey.

The famous Poe is closing to be re-opened as The Back Yard on December 1st. So I'm holding one last party there for all my guide-getters. DJ's Sample Gee, Dougal Swift, Ben Levi and myself. It'll be cosy and fun with super party beats.

I can't get enough of these 3 artists, or this venue for that matter. Super talented kiwi musicians that are all very different. Rock, Rap and Easy listening.

If you like all the fun of the races it's here, but more. I find you get so caught up with what's going on inside that you forget to watch the racing outside. Take your special someone, or a person you just like, out for a casual chilled dinner followed by a movie. I recommend you go see "Taken". Liam Neeson's daughter gets kidnapped in Paris. He goes nato tracking her down. Basic plots quite predictable, but the rest of it's flaming superb.

A lot of bars do this quiz but this one gives you stunningly tasty free pizza. Get a few friends together, don't worry about the parking hassles (there aren't any it's Tuesday) and come along for some braintastic fun.
