The one and only Ferris Bueller.I haven’t had a bigger start to the weekend in a long time. Wednesday was uncommon and rather frightening. A group of friends got together, hired a bus and went to the old mental hospital in Karaka, that’s been taken over and modified into scare city, aka Spookers. I had never been before and had heard horror stories from past victims, so to say I was apprehensive was a horrendous understatement. BBT also hosts the NZ Motorcycle Show, and there's something for the ladies too at the ever-popular 'Girl-zone', plus loads of jaw-dropping action that will blow you away. And/Or Fluffy Grand Opening Night Kiss Bar, 309 K’ Rd, Newton No Charge before midnight, $10 on the door after It’s a gay night at the newly supped-up Kiss Bar. There’s an emphasis on fluffy vocal and commercial dance music, and also fluffy cocktails, giveaways, podium dancers and other fun types of entertainment. The night is very accommodating for all, so don’t be shy, have fun. Saturday Movember 10thParnell Festival Of Roses (begins)Parnell Rose Gardens, Gladstone Rd, Parnell No Charge. 10am – 5pm The suburb of Parnell comes alive with an explosion of colour, enjoying nature at its best - the bloom of around 4,500 rose types. It’s not only the rose gardens that blossom, there will be music, dance, street theatre and art exhibitions all over Parnell.
