Even a broken leg wouldn't keep me out of ANZFW

Air New Zealand Fashion Week, and all the who-ha that goes in tow, is the talk of the town. It’s not just overly slim 6ft girls, and gaunt Beatles look-alike boys, gliding down a raised plank anymore. It’s an entire Disneyworld of music, food, gaming, shops, alcohol, makeovers, manicures and mingling. Where the content of the designers’ goodie-bags says as much about them as their actual collection on show does. It’s where you go to be at the forefront of fashion, to get a glimpse at what most of us can’t afford. Check it out, and drink it all in.

Congratulations to Teneka Hyndman and Shannon Smith they’ll be receiving a lavish Steve Edwards prize pack by the man himself this Thursday as he launches his new album at Lion-Nathan HQ on Khyber Pass. Chris McKean will be showing -off the James Bond style Grolsche dress watch that he won. Glamour at Toto’s double tickets were won by Billy Dawson, Sammy Martin and Dianna Mannion. Dave Smyth won the Les Mills 1 month free membership.

Check below for details on all the events coming up this week, along with a selection of pix from the last week. And make sure you check out the website and read my weekly review, and view a bunch of new photos in the gallery section. Just go to www.martysguide.co.nz.

Wednesday September 19th

Big Wednesday
The Comedy Club, 321 Queen St, CBD
Entry $10 on the door. 8 – 10pm

The only reason I’m going is because the MC this week is Jamie Bowen. He’s not the tallest guy in the supermarket, but he really is funny. The other 9 guys will probably be funny to, but he’ll literally have you in stitches.

And/Or
Everything’s Just $4
The Globe Bar, Darby St, CBD
No Charge. 8pm – Late

I went last week and had a blinder. Everything, even the really expensive drinks are $4. The DJ plays an eclectic music mix, hip-hop to house and back again, a real roller-coaster. Did I mention the stunning European hotties that turn up week after week? Nuff said.

Steve is very talented and this video will soar, this is why all the TV networks will be at this launch. It’s to aide our AB’s as they sweep the opposition aside and bring the William Webb Ellis Trophy home. The launch will be a beaut and due to the location of the event I don’t think we’ll be lacking liquid.
