All for fun and fun for all - just 32 sleeps till Xmas!
Rather than having a birthDAY, Graziella has a birthWEEK. This is genius. Her one yearly special day is now 7 times longer. I am definitely going to adopt this next year when it’s my turn. Her week commenced with a delightful dinner and a movie at Toto’s restaurant. She chose “Grease”, and dressing up was mandatory. I was surprised at the number of gents that knew all the words to all the songs, in particular Chico and Braidy who both sang lustily.
Things are starting to really hot up - both with the weather and opportunities to get out and party. Click here to read about what happened over the last 7 days, plus see below for a heap of good stuff coming up over the week ahead. And for those of you who are yet to make your New Year’s plans, there’s a list of some of the top NY events at the end of the guide.
Oh yeah, and let’s not forget the pix. Click here to view 5 new galleries of good times.

Friday Movember 23rd
Bright Lights Launch Party Fisher Galleries, 66 Parnell rd, Parnell No Charge. 5 – 9pm
This looks great fun. 6 colourful NZ artists, 1 soulful funky DJ and a whole array of people all packed into 4 hours of sponsor-fuelled celebration at one of Auckland’s most respected galleries.
And/Or ALT TV’s Playhouse Party Fort Lane, Downtown Auckland Entry $15 on the gate. 10pm – Late
There’ll be dancing in the streets as Fort Lane is cordoned off and 3 popular bars unite. Forte Bar houses the mad ALT TV DJ’s, Coco Club takes ownership of the sexy house and Flight pounds to the dirty electro sounds of NZ’s best. Presenters Katy Thomas & General Lee will be doing their 2 hour Playhouse Party show live from 10pm on site. It’ll be the sort of event you could stay all night at.
And/Or Tiki Tanne Live Tour 2007 4:20, 373 K’ Rd (Upstairs), Newton Tickets $25 from www.iticket.co.nz. 10pm – 1am
Former frontman for kiwi legend band Salmonella Dub, Tiki is perhaps one of the most acclaimed musicians in the country doubling at times as an award-winning audio engineer. Tonight, with his new full band, he brings us some diverse tracks off his debut solo top 10 album, "Past Present Future". Be quick this will sell-out.

Saturday Movember 24th
Tabu Party The Late Club & Office Bar, Westin Hotel, 21 Viaduct Harbour Ave, Viaduct No Charge. 10pm – Late
This is doubling as Highlife Entertainment’s Xmas bash, so it should be pumping. You’ll find sophistication, sexiness and housey dance beats here. Be one of the first 200 and you’ll get a comp. cocktail on entry. I find the Late Club impersonal and cell-like, so I recommend lapping it all up street-side in the Office Bar and its outdoor zone.
And/Or Legends Dance Party Ink & Coherent, 268 K’ Rd Newton Tickets $15 from Real Groovy, or $20 on the door. 10pm – 7am The innovators, the originators, the legends, all the old skool DJ’s still mixing it up in NZ band together for a night of memories and massive times. The last one was still humming at 7am. This one will be no different.

Here’s why; Justin Timberlake leads the nominations for the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards with 7 nominations. He’s accompanied by an 11 piece band and a crack team of dancers. Tuesday Movember 27th
The Mystery Of Irma Vep The Silo Theatre, Lower Greys Ave, Auckland Central Tickets $30 - $35 from www.ticketmaster.co.nz. 7 – 10pm
I’ve recommended this before and I’m doing it again. This play is flippin’ hilarious. All eight roles are played by the utterly brilliant Michael Hurst and Oliver Driver, who obviously relish acting in this cross-dressing camp comedy. This is a match of two comic talents, some of the most delicious moments are watching them push each other to near wipe-out. It's a funny, family-friendly little oddity that's as nutty as a fruitcake. The cool thing is that the theatre is transformed into a cabaret with the audience seated at tables, so the show goes on around you. Book in advance for this stellar caper.
