I'm writing from bed this week, after the 2 burning ends of my candle finallly met

The wild week that was, was eventful. One major event each day saw me amazed at art, schmoozing with celebs, bow tied at a ball, dancing with dolls and banging bongos.

I don't think anyone knew Brooke Howard-Smith was so skilled. His maiden art exhibition, titled "Stolen Moments", was a hit, with many works sold before the last Mojito was shaken. There was no obvious theme, apart from avante garde and appealing, but if I'd had some spare readies I definitely would've invested.

Met & Code is a bit hit and miss, as to whether you'll get a boomer or a bomber night. This one's looking good due to there being 3 zones, international and Auckland's best DJ's, giveaways and that there's not much else on. Feel good house music all night. Come find me on the mezanine floor, I'll be there for most of the night.

Liam Finn & Eliza Jane

I'd say he's bigger than his Dad now (Neil Finn). Over the past year, rock & pop singer/songwriter, Liam's been rubbing shoulders with the biggest names in world music. This performance will display his findings, so intriguing indeed.

And/Or
dDub Album Release Tour
Galatos, 17 Galatos St, Newton
Tickets $20 from Real Groovy & Cosmic Corner, 0r $25 on the door.

A new fav of mine, Luke Thompson, sets the stage for an even newer one. Luke's a solo acoustic act with charisma and oodles of ability. DDub, who I was lucky to see for the first time a month ago, are recent additions to my small list of killer kiwi bands. They take a contemporary approach to authentic roots styles. The band members describe their live shows as "cranking and skanking." Regulars on the NZ festival circuit, like Splore, and Rhythm & Vines this album won't take long to climb the charts.
