13 cool things up for grabs this week are:

1 x Double ticket to The NZ Beer Festival on NEXT weekend at Ellerslie Racecourse. Wellington had theirs last weekend, now it's Auckland's turn. For a great time, and enough beer to sink a ship you have to get along to this massive annual event. To go in the draw type “Beer Fest” followed by one of the acts performing, in the subject box of an email and send it to me.

1 x $65 box from www.mischiefboxes.co.nz. Mischief Boxes are a wicked new site. They have great gift boxes for parties and special occasions, all which you can customize yourself online. To win, go to their website, look around and find what the Mischief Girls ride around on (hint: it's in the news section). Put that mode of transport as the title for your entry back to me.

1 x Double ticket to see superstar Dutch DJ, Sander Kleinenberg, perform at Studio as part of his 'This Is' World Tour. This guy is huge, I saw him play 10 years ago and remember a sonic set. His techno tunes and matching visuals are a must see. Put “Sander Kleinenberg” as the header for an email back to me to be in to win a pair of tix.

2 x Double passes to Christian Luke performing at Bungalow8 this Friday night. He's flying in from OZ for 2 shows (the other in Tauranga). Upbeat house and raving electro tunes all night. Write “Christian Luke” in the title box and email me if you want to go.

2 x Double VIP tickets to Taste of Auckland at Ellerslie Racecourse from Mar 19th – 22nd. 4 days of unrivaled gourmet delight. A celebration of the best food and drink that this region has to offer. Put “Taste Auckland” as the title for an email back to be in the draw.

1 x Double ticket for Wild Bean Cafe's latest Zoo Music offering this Saturday evening. This time it's the turn of The Mint Chicks and Pluto to rock the crowds at Auckland Zoo. Both of these rock groups are multi-award winners, and this party will sell-out. Write “Zoo Music” as the title for your email entry back to me to possibly win.

1 x Single ticket to see Mr. Get Shaky himself, Ian Carey at the newest club in town Shed 19 this Friday, on Princes Wharf. From all accounts it's going to be a real humm dinger of a dance party. You want to be at this. Type “Get Shaky” in the subject box of an email and send it on over to me.

1 x Mr Vintage t’shirt. You get to go into their Falcon St store in Parnell and select any t’shirt you like. Their garments are very funky, and the service is always with a smile. Put “Mr Vintage” as the header of your email when you mail me back. Check out www.mrvintage.co.nz.

1 x $50 bar tab for the Traffic Bar & Kitchen to be used NEXT Friday after work. A funky fresh place (located on the corner of Queen & Quay streets) with the meanest menu in town. It's busy, and there's always something going on there. If you'd like this tab email me with “Traffic Bar” as the header.

2 x Double passes to slynkey.com's next Girl's Night Out at Suite Bar on Saturday 21st March. Goodie bags, cocktails, prizes, nibbles, dancing, party games & male waiters. These parties are legendary! If you'd like to attend put “Slynkey” as the title for an email back to me. N.B. Please include your mobile number so slynkey can give you all the details.

2 x Double pass to Cheesefest '09 at the SkyCity Convention Centre on Wednesday March 4th. This speaks for itself. ie. Enough cheese to sink a ship, and you can sample it all. Write “Cheesefest” as the header for your email back to me to be in the draw.

1 x Double ticket to People In Your Neighbourhood at The Transmission Room NEXT Thursday. It's an intercultural music collaboration from artists the world over, and live street-style fashion show. Type “People In Your Neighbourhood” as the title for your email entry back to me.

2 x Double passes to the Time Warp opening launch party at the new Komodo City Bar on Wyndham St this Friday. It's a mix of stand-up comedy and retro dance hits, aimed at 25 – 45 age bracket. Type “Time Warp” as the title for an email back to me if you'd like to attend.

This is the big race day of the year for me. I'll be all accessorised up and in my white suit with a fine fillie by my side. The $20 entry gets you everything you need, but the other options get you into more exclusive areas that may include all drinks and food etc.

Thursday March 5th

Auckland Festival 09 (begins)
Red Square, Aotea Square, Queen St, Auckland Central
Tickets Various $

In it's 3rd year the festival now attracts worldwide attention. 2 weeks of unmissable musical gems where artists and audiences collide. See the mundane changed to marvelous. My picks to see are La Clique, Tim Minchin, Die Roten Punkte – Robot/Lion Tour and Dogs of Auckland.

And/Or
Bedouin Soundclash
Sale Street Brewery, Sale St, Freemans Bay
Tickets $25 from www.ticketek.co.nz. 9Pm – 1am

They've performed alongside Cold Play and Black Eyed Peas, and had their single “1259 Lullaby” feature on the hit TV series 'Grey’s Anatomy'. For the first time, the power trio from Ontario Canada hit NZ. With a seductive combination of lead singer Jay Malinowski’s soulful wail and hypnotic rhythmic guitar grooves, Eon Sinclair’s deep dubbing bass, and Pat Pengelly’s driving rhythms, Bedouin Soundclash creates its own innovative fusion of reggae, rock, punk and soul.

Friday March 6th

Tim Minchin: Ready For This
The Festival Club, Red Square, Aotea Square, Auckland Central
Tickets $40 from www.the-edge.co.nz. 9.30 – 11pm

He's wildly unorthodox and brings his unique brand of musical comedy to Auckland fresh from a sold-out UK tour. Tim's show has been labeled; brilliant, hilarious comedic cabaret that is fast-paced, insightful and original. He's one of the most exciting and sought-after performers on the international comedy circuit.

And/Or
Sander Kleinenberg
Studio, 340 K Rd, Newton
Tickets $34.90 from www.iticket.co.nz. 10Pm – 6am

Crowd pleasing techno tracks linked in simultaneously with mind bending visuals. Sander's been belting out beats to millions worldwide for well over a decade. The Dutch superstar DJ headlines this latest offering from Incline Events, and is supported by 20 others Kiwi stars across 3 zones.

Saturday March 7th

SkyCity Diamond Day / Fuji Whips'n'Spurs
Ellerslie Racecourse, 80 – 100 Ascot Ave, Greenlane
Tickets $10 - $340 from www.aucklandracing.co.nz. 11.30am – 11.30pm

The last BIG race meeting of the summer season. Come in for a $10 wander about, place a bet and see all the pomp and ceremony. Or, spend a bit more and go all out in the President's Suite. The best tip for guide-getters is to get dolled up and hit Whips'n'spurs for $75, it may be superficial, but it's a whole lot of fun.

And/Or
Wild Bean Cafe pres. Zoo Music feat. The Mint Chicks & Pluto
Auckland Zoo, Motions Rd, Western Springs
Tickets $30 from www.ticketmaster.co.nz. 5.30 – 9.30pm

The Mint Chicks are one of the big names dominating the NZ music scene, after collecting five Tui awards last year, including best album, and best rock group. Pluto combine elements of modern sci-fi-delic, rock'n'roll power, pop sensibilities and gliding vocal melodies, to create music to enthrall all. Come early and wander amongst the animals at your leisure. Bring food, but no booze, sadly.

And/Or
Voyager: Ultimate Trance Classics
Tonic, 270 K Rd, Newton
Entry $10 on the door. 10Pm – 6am

I'd be here with bells if I was going to be in town. It's trance anthems time, with all the hits from the 90's and early 2000's, played by our NZ raving DJ pioneers.

Sunday March 8th

BFM Summer Series
Albert Park, Auckland Central
No Charge. 1 – 6pm

The last one, a month ago, was brilliant. Cool, location, sounds and attendees. I predict fine weather and an event that is well worth checking out. Dub beats all day that end with a touch of techno. Come with all picnic nic naks.

Monday March 9th

Steve Wrigley: Office Boy
The Classic Studio, Level 1, 321 Queen St, Auckland Central
Tickets $22 on the door. 7 – 8pm

A good laugh to get over Moody Monday blues. Steve is funny, and this show seems novel and something we can all relate to; working in an office environment. Steve loves intelligent heckling, so let it rip.

Tuesday March 10th

'F' Is For Fake
Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts, 13 Reeves Rd, Auckland East
No Charge. 9Am – 8.30pm

This exhibition caught my eye as something new and interesting. It investigates notions of reality and fakery, asking how we know what’s real in this bewildering world of photoshop, CGI and plastic surgery. The show looks at tricks, counterfeits, confusion, pranks, re-enactment and repeats. F for Fake then backtracks, and asks what might we learn from repetition?

Wednesday March 11th

Movies In Parks: Casino Royale
Western Park, Ponsonby Rd, Ponsonby
No Charge. 7 – 10pm

Most will have seen this recent James Bond flick, but it's a fun night out option anyway. Bring vino, nibbles and a cushion. A great social affair.

And/Or
Circus OZ 30th Birthday Bash
Bruce Mason Centre, Cnr Hurstmere & The Promenade, Takapuna
Tickets $20 - $65 from www.ticketmaster.co.nz. 7.30 – 9.15pm

Internationally acclaimed for thrilling, high energy shows that combine breathtaking feats, cheeky satire, and original live music, Circus Oz perform in Auckland for the first time as part of Auckland Festival. Everything you'd expect from a circus, but fresher and funkier.
